About Us

At Reimagine Healthcare, we believe that everyone deserves access to exceptional medical care—not just the wealthy. In the United States, healthcare has become increasingly divided, with the best doctors and specialists shifting toward concierge medicine, charging $300+ per hour for treatment. This means that millions of people suffering from chronic and complex conditions are left without the care they need.

Doctors like Peter Attia, MD, Tanya Dempsey, MD, and Leonard Weinstock, MD—leaders in advancing medicine for chronic and poorly understood diseases—are often out of reach for most patients due to limited insurance coverage and high out-of-pocket costs. We believe this two-tiered system is unjust, and we’re here to change it.

Reimagine Healthcare is dedicated to democratizing healthcare by providing access to education about cutting-edge treatments for chronic conditions, regardless of financial status. We focus on neurological disorders, leveraging our expertise and innovative therapies to improve patient outcomes.

Because healthcare should be about need, not wealth.

Strategic Plan 2025-2027

1. Strategy: Focused Differentiation

ReImagine Healthcare differentiates itself by addressing the unmet needs of Oregonians living with complex and chronic conditions—such as chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, mental health challenges, and long COVID—who are often inadequately supported by conventional care systems.

How Oregonians with Chronic and Complex Conditions Are Underserved:

  • Fragmented Care Models: Many individuals with chronic illness experience a “revolving door” of referrals, prescriptions, and siloed appointments. Conventional systems rarely offer coordinated care that addresses the root causes of disease or supports long-term healing.
  • Limited Treatment Options: Patients are frequently offered symptom management only—often through pharmaceuticals or invasive procedures—while holistic or integrative options like acupuncture, chiropractic care, or lifestyle interventions are overlooked or underutilized.
  • Lack of Provider Awareness: Many conventional providers are not trained to assess or refer for integrative care approaches, even when evidence supports their effectiveness. Patients are left unaware of therapies that could improve function, reduce dependence on medications, and improve quality of life.
  • Information Inequity: Health literacy around integrative and preventive strategies remains low. Patients managing complex conditions often lack the information, confidence, or advocacy support needed to explore these options safely and effectively.

The Unique Value We Offer:

While some advocacy groups focus on institutional reform or legislative policy, ReImagine Healthcare delivers targeted education and systems navigation to the people and providers who need it most—those managing complex, ongoing health challenges.

  • Patient-Centered Education: We help individuals understand their full range of care options, especially integrative therapies that address the mind-body connection, stress, nutrition, pain, and function. Our workshops, outreach events, and digital resources empower patients to make informed choices.
  • Provider Engagement and Cross-Training: We support providers—including primary care, behavioral health, and physical medicine—in learning how to integrate or refer to evidence-based therapies like acupuncture, naturopathic support, and functional movement. Our approach is practical, relationship-driven, and tailored to real-world clinical settings.
  • System Navigation and Advocacy: We reduce the burden on patients by creating referral tools, community resource directories, and training Community Health Workers (CHWs) to act as guides through a complex and often inaccessible care landscape.
  • Evidence Translation: We actively collect and share data on outcomes such as pain reduction, mobility, and quality of life—providing a credible evidence base for integrative care within broader policy and payment reform efforts.

2. Five Forces Framework: Strategic Positioning in the Integrative Health Ecosystem

ReImagine Healthcare operates in a dynamic and underdeveloped segment of the healthcare landscape: education and advocacy for integrative, whole-person care targeting individuals with complex and chronic conditions. While we are not a healthcare provider or payer, we influence key decision-makers, shape patient understanding, and bridge critical system gaps. Here’s how we navigate the five forces:

1. Buyer Power – High

  • Patients managing chronic and complex conditions are actively seeking alternatives to conventional care but often lack access to trusted information and tools to act on it.
  • Our role is to shift buyer power toward patients by increasing health literacy and confidence—helping them advocate for themselves and navigate their care more effectively.
  • We also support providers as “buyers” of knowledge, training them in integrative approaches and creating referral systems that improve outcomes and efficiency.

2. Supplier Power – Moderate to High

  • Traditional healthcare systems, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical industries are dominant “suppliers” of treatment models and health narratives. They often determine what services are visible, reimbursed, and accessible.
  • Our work challenges this dynamic by spotlighting cost-effective, evidence-based integrative therapies and advocating for more equitable, preventive options.
  • We build partnerships with credible knowledge hubs (e.g., IHI, CPR, OHLC) to reduce dependence on conventional gatekeepers.

3. Threat of Substitutes – Moderate

  • General health education campaigns, wellness influencers, and commercial digital health platforms all attempt to fill the knowledge gap—but they often provide generic or non-evidence-based guidance.
  • What sets ReImagine apart is our localized, evidence-informed, and equity-focused approach. We are community-rooted, working directly with Oregonians and providers, not delivering top-down content or mass-market wellness products.

4. Threat of New Entrants – Low

  • The barrier to entry for education and advocacy nonprofits is relatively low, but building trust, clinical credibility, and outcome-driven models requires deep investment.
  • Our strength lies in our growing reputation, relationships with health leaders, and cross-sector collaborations, which create durable differentiation.
  • Additionally, few organizations specialize in both patient and provider education on integrative care for chronic conditions—giving ReImagine a focused advantage.

5. Competitive Rivalry – Low

  • Most healthcare nonprofits are focused on clinical service delivery, insurance navigation, or specific disease advocacy.
  • ReImagine occupies a niche position as a connector, educator, and advocate—working alongside existing systems to expand care possibilities, not compete with them.
  • Our collaborative mindset and emphasis on filling structural gaps reduce rivalry and increase opportunities for aligned partnerships.

Value Chain Strategy: Creating Systemic Value Through Advocacy, Education, and Connection

Unlike traditional providers or health systems, ReImagine Healthcare does not deliver direct clinical care. Instead, we add value by activating the “educational and navigational layer” of the healthcare system—empowering patients, supporting providers, and advocating for a more equitable and integrated approach to chronic and complex conditions.

Our value chain is designed to identify system gaps, close knowledge inequities, and foster a culture of whole-person care.

Research & Data SystemsWe develop outcome-tracking systems that collect data from telehealth, mobile events, and community feedback loops.
Communication & MessagingWe craft accessible, equity-informed messages tailored to patients, providers, and community partners.
Grantwriting & FundraisingWe secure philanthropic and grant funding to pilot programs and sustain infrastructure supporting long-term change.
Technology & ToolsWe use secure digital platforms to share referral resources, deliver tele-education, and facilitate care coordination conversations.

Strategic Advantage in the Value Chain

ReImagine Healthcare’s position is unique. While most stakeholders focus on service delivery or policy design, we:

  • Bridge the gap between systems and individuals living with long-term conditions.
  • Translate innovation into practice, ensuring it reaches those who need it most.
  • Drive demand for value-based care models by educating patients and providers simultaneously.
  • Build trust where conventional healthcare has failed to deliver sustainable, person-centered solutions.

We are the connective tissue in a fragmented system—offering clarity, direction, and momentum toward integrative health equity.

Strategic Objectives

  1. Empower Patients with Complex Conditions Through Education
Provide Oregonians living with chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, mental health conditions, and other long-term health challenges with accessible, evidence-based education on integrative care options.
  2. Equip Providers with Tools for Integrative, Whole-Person Care
Deliver practical, cross-disciplinary training for healthcare professionals—helping them integrate, refer to, or support non-pharmacological and lifestyle-based care options.
  3. Bridge System Gaps Through Navigation and Community Resources
Develop local directories, referral toolkits, and train Community Health Workers to connect patients to integrative providers and empower self-advocacy.
  4. Influence Policy Through Real-World Evidence and Patient Voice
Collect and share outcome data and patient stories that demonstrate the effectiveness of integrative care—advocating for payment reform and systemic adoption.
  5. Foster Equity by Addressing Knowledge and Access Barriers
Prioritize outreach to populations disproportionately affected by chronic disease and limited by geography, income, or cultural barriers—ensuring that care navigation is not a privilege.

Conclusion

ReImagine Healthcare is not a clinic or a think tank. We are a connector, translator, and catalyst—closing the gap between innovation and the people who need it most.

By focusing on chronic and complex conditions, we shine a light on the individuals most often left behind by traditional healthcare. We don’t treat symptoms—we train, educate, and advocate so that patients can choose wisely, providers can act confidently, and systems can evolve responsibly.Through patient and provider education, systems navigation, and policy advocacy, we are helping to build a healthcare future where information and equity—not income or geography—determine access to healing. And we invite others to join us in reimagining what healthcare can be.
